Lom Nava Love Screening & Discussion

February 17 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Lom Nava Love is the unflinching story of Black families in Baltimore, who harness their strengths to challenge the systems and institutions that control them.

Centered on the work of community organizer Shirley Foulks and directed by Youth Resiliency Institute co-founder Fanon Hill, the film documents Foulks’ engagement with families and how she uses art to communicate the abilities, strengths, and power to effect change that Black families innately possess.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Fanon Hill and Shirley Foulks, moderated by Marc Steiner. Navasha Daya will also perform music from the film. This event is sponsored by MICA’s Presidential Task Force on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Globalization
